simTD presents C2X communication system for field operational test

After three years of intensive research, simTD will present its car-to-car and car-to infrastructure communication system in October which was specially developed for field operational testing. The project team invites to the simTD test ground in Friedberg near Frankfurt/Main. Amongst others demonstration vehicles, test bench, Communication and Control Unit, Vehicle Application Unit, ITS Roadside Stations and the simTD traffic management center will be presented. Selected functions can be experienced through live demonstrations.

The presentation will start on October 11 with an information day for representatives from industry, science and politics. For journalists a press conference will be held in parallel followed by driving demonstrations.

The second day is reserved for the simTD project team. On October 12, the team members will hold their third General Assembly and will take advantage of the opportunity to test the system which is prepared for the field operational test.

On October 13, the simTD and DRIVE C2X projects invite international C2X experts to examine simTD results on the test ground and to discuss them in workshops afterwards. The Rhine-Main area is one of the seven test sites for the European field trial for cooperative systems, DRIVE C2X.
